WEDDING VENUES

The day you say your vows should be memorable, one where you have a wonderful time with your loved ones. To make the most of this celebratory day is to start by finding the right space that precisely fits your needs, as it is one of the most important decisions you’ll make that’ll shape your wedding day. After all, most of the planning cannot begin until after you’ve completed this task.

There are quite a few determinants that can make or break your big day, so it’s important that you’ve considered them all to make sure that you will cherish the memories made on this day for years to come. Below, we have a list of dos and don’ts to consider when choosing the wedding venue of your dreams.

DO keep your budget in mind

Who doesn’t love a big fat Indian wedding? However, inordinate celebrations bring with them increased expenditure. It goes without saying that you should take into consideration all expenses as settling on a place that you cannot afford may seem like a good idea only while the wedding lasts. Some may go as far as to cut on the guest list and food to accommodate the venue in their budget. If you don’t want to do the same, consider places that you otherwise wouldn’t have, like a centrally-located hotel in New Delhi. Venture out and look into venues that are just as beautiful as they are conveniently located.

DON’T sign agreements without a thorough read

When you enter a contract, it is important to carefully read and understand every word on it. Entering a new phase of life brings with it happiness and excitement, which is understandable but you have to remember to be cautious. No one wants to find out on their wedding day that there is a clause in the contract that limits you from using certain facilities or requires you to exit the premises at a fixed time.

DO keep your guests informed about the rules

After having familiarised yourself with the rules and regulations relating to the event site, don’t forget to inform your family members and guests as well. For example, Indian beach wedding venues on a foreign shoreline may not allow pets. The guest that likes to get her Doberman along everywhere she goes will not be very happy. Or for that matter, the chosen venue may not allow occupancy beyond 12 am, and if you don’t take this into account, you’ll find yourself out of time and with a huge mess to clean up.

DO visit the venue beforehand

There’s more to the wedding venue than its aesthetics, which can only be figured out once you visit the chosen venue. The LaLiT New Delhi has two venues available to celebrate your special day, namely, The Plaza Terrace Garden and The Regency. By visiting these places, you can analyse the space better. This way you can check whether you’d prefer an indoor or outdoor setting and look into the services that come with each venue more closely. Both the venues at the LaLiT New Delhi are located in the centre of city, enabling close access if in case last minute run-ups are required.

DON’T assume the venue owners will arrange for the clean-up

Oftentimes, the rental fee for the venue covers the cleaning fees, but don’t take it for granted. Make sure you know who is responsible for cleaning up when the celebrations have come to an end. Doing so, will assure you don’t have to face any kind of hassle later. Acquaint yourself with the full story before the big day.

DO have a rehearsal at the venue

Walking down the aisle requires much preparation as opposed to what you might think. Make sure to get some practice in before the wedding day so that everyone has an understanding of where they belong and when they should go after the ceremonies are over. This will ensure, everything goes smoothly, exactly like you pictured.
